“When you change the way you look at things the things you look at change.”

ABOUT ME

Hi there!

Since you may be sharing so much of yourself with me, I thought you might like to know a bit about me

The most important relationship you will ever have is the one with yourself. When you nurture it, everything else falls into place.

I have known since I was 16 that I wanted to be a therapist, the idea inspired by my father’s sweet gift of a book by a hippy shrink from the 70’s called Living, Loving and Learning. It validated so much of how I intuitively saw the world and inspired me to keep learning.

I’ve lived in Colorado for 34 years—I think of myself as a semi-native, but don’t tell the actual Colorado natives, they might not approve! I’m a mom to two happily adulting daughters and an old dog named Henry. I’ve been both a stay-at-home mom and a working mom, so I get the unique joys and struggles of each. After a 22-year marriage, I’ve also navigated divorce and created a meaningful new chapter as a single woman and have learned even more about creating healthy relationships.

When I’m not working, I practice what I preach about self-care. Yoga, Pilates, meditation, gym time, city walks, and hiking or snowshoeing in the mountains are what keep me grounded. I relax with a good book, a cup of tea, or The Great British Bake-Off (I used to have a baking business a long time ago!). Traveling sparks my sense of adventure—Costa Rica is a favorite. I am a foodie so Farmers’ markets and creative restaurants bring me feed my senses and cooking and interior design for friends are some of my creative outlets.

As your therapist, you’ll find that I’m direct, sometimes irreverent and always caring. I occasionally joke or curse (when appropriate!), but I’m always focused on creating a safe, judgment-free space for you. We all walk through life with blinders on, and I believe my job is not only to offer that safe space for you to unload but also to gently challenge you with perspectives you haven’t yet considered. Together, we’ll work on healing old wounds, practicing new skills, and creating real changes in your life.

For two decades, I’ve dedicated myself to both personally and professionally learning how to make relationships thrive—with ourselves and others. I understand the importance of expressing our emotions, listening deeply, and finding resolutions that benefit everyone involved. Whether you’re seeking therapy for yourself or with your partner, I’m here to help you heal and grow.

I know starting therapy can feel daunting. It was hard for me the first time too. But the relief that often comes after just one session—knowing there’s hope, feeling understood, and seeing how therapy really can create change—often leaves clients wondering why they waited so long.

I’m a licensed Clinical Psychologist in both Colorado and Michigan, (with most of the US following soon as a member of PsyPact). I earned a Doctorate in Psychology (Psy.D.) from the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Professional Psychology and a B.A. from Vassar College. I’m certified in EMDR, recovery from narcissistic abuse, and other effective trauma-healing methods.

If you’re ready to make real changes, I’d love to help you on that journey.
